LosslessCut

LosslessCut is a free, cross-platform desktop application for trimming, cutting, merging, and remuxing video and audio files without re-encoding them. Because it avoids re-encoding, an operation that would take hours in a conventional video editor -- cutting a section out of a long recording, for example -- completes in seconds, with no loss of quality from the original file.

The tool works by cutting at the video format's existing keyframes rather than at an arbitrary exact frame, which is what makes the operation near-instant; the tradeoff is that cut points can land a short distance -- up to a few seconds, depending on the source encoding -- from the exact point requested. Beyond basic trimming, LosslessCut supports merging clips with matching codec parameters, combining tracks from multiple source files, remuxing into compatible container formats, capturing full-resolution still frames, and importing or exporting cut timings as CSV for scripted or repeated workflows. It runs on macOS, Windows, and Linux, distributed through each platform's app store as well as a direct GitHub download.

Radar Assessment

LosslessCut is placed in Assess. It is a relevant option within Personal Video Processing Pipeline, the wiki's existing technique for personal video editing, but has not yet been used first-person in that or any other pipeline.
