PalmierPro
Palmier Pro is a free, open-source macOS video editor built with Swift, modeled on the layout of a professional editor like Premiere Pro but designed from the start to let AI participate directly in the edit. It requires macOS 26 (Tahoe) on Apple Silicon and is distributed under the GPLv3 license.
The editor includes built-in generative AI for producing video and image clips, using models such as Seedance and Kling, directly on the timeline alongside conventionally captured footage. The core editor is free; the generative AI features require an account and subscription.
The distinguishing feature is that Palmier Pro exposes an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, letting AI coding assistants such as Claude, Cursor, and Codex open and edit the same video project as the human editor. This turns the editor into a shared workspace rather than a tool the AI can only be asked about, so an agent can make timeline changes directly instead of producing instructions for a human to carry out.
The repository had roughly 12,557 stars and 82 open issues as of this review. Support runs through Discord and GitHub issues. No first-person production use has been established, so this sits at Assess.
