Lore Books
New in 2.0. Fifteen books tell the story behind Magic Treasures' named jewelry and sets: who made the pieces, and why. They're journals, ledgers, notes and letters by Silbro, Sal'andaar, Maldritch and Selene, and by a few people who knew them.
Lore books are chest loot. A chest that rolls Magic Treasures loot can add a lore book of the chest's rarity, alongside its jewelry, gems and scrolls (see Where to Find for which chests have which rarity). A chest never holds more than one lore book. Every book is Uncommon or rarer, so they don't come from Common chests.
Use a lore book to open it. Magic Treasures has its own reader:
- Two-page spread, sized to your window (one page at a time on a narrow window).
- Turn pages with the arrows on the page, the left and right arrow keys, Page Up and Page Down, or the mouse wheel.
- Illustrations show the jewelry the text is about, with its name below. Hover over one for the item's full tooltip.
- Notes in brackets are the writer's asides, shown in grey italics.
- The reader remembers your page in each book until you close the game.
The books are in English, Spanish and Russian.

Reading your first book gives First Pages, and reading all fifteen gives Archivist. Each writer also has a hidden advancement for reading all of their books. See Advancements.
Each book is a JSON file at data/magictreasures/magictreasures/lore_book/<book>.json. A datapack can switch a book off with a copy of that file that adds "disabled": true; a switched-off book no longer drops from chests.
