CB Radio
Applies to the published v0.3.0-beta.1 release. Device screenshots below came from a PNG-capable build based on later main source; see Screenshot Catalog.
Open CB RADIO for the 40-channel receiver. OrcSDR receives only.
Attach an antenna suitable for 27 MHz. Open CB RADIO → Listen, choose a channel and mode, then set a comfortable volume. To scan, press SCAN and watch for a stop; use Hold to remain there or Skip to move on. A scan stop is only a signal candidate—listen before identifying a transmission.
- Listen: choose a channel and AM, USB or LSB; adjust clarifier and squelch.
- Spectrum: view activity across the 40-channel band.
- Activity: inspect recent activity and scan stops.
- Channels: inspect channels and manage lockouts.
- Setup: adjust scanner threshold, hang time, maximum hold, priority and related options.
Start a scan to search for activity. Hold retains the current channel; Skip leaves the current stop. Lockouts exclude channels from scanning. A carrier or scan stop is not proof of useful voice audio.
This release tunes CB directly on V4/V4L rather than through the HF upconverter, addressing an observed broadcast-AM image on CB. This does not remove all possible interference.
The earlier channel panel has runtime evidence. The newer band-wide scanner has host regression coverage; full Tab5 hardware and RF acceptance remain open. Relative S readings are not calibrated field strength. If scanning finds nothing, verify the antenna, channel and squelch before changing scanner thresholds; see Troubleshooting.
The first five images below are the dedicated CB dashboard. The later Radio, Scope and Capture screens show shared receiver views.
These are actual 1280 × 720 Tab5 captures from 29 September 2026, using PNG-capable source 897c60a. They show the interface, not proof of reception. Live and demo refer to capture mode; the source is newer than the published release binary. See Screenshot Catalog for file hashes and provenance.

- PR #105: band-wide CB scanner records the scanner implementation and host tests. Its merge commit is a permanent source reference.
- PR #113: CB direct route and gain controls records the later routing change. Its merge commit is a permanent source reference.
- Beta.1 release identifies the installed package. The PRs and source tests do not establish full Tab5 or RF acceptance. Screenshot Catalog identifies the separate build used for these images.
