AM Radio
Applies to the published v0.3.0-beta.1 release. Device screenshots below came from a PNG-capable build based on later main source; see Screenshot Catalog.
Open AM RADIO from Home with a broadcast-AM antenna and a receiver that supports the selected frequency.
- Listen: tune, adjust step size, use DIRECT TUNE, and set volume. SMART/MANUAL manages RF gain where supported.
- Finder: scan the broadcast channel plan and inspect candidates. The implemented scan covers 119 channels; a candidate is not a guarantee of intelligible programming.
- Spectrum: inspect the tuned signal and nearby energy. Span and filter width serve different purposes.
- Settings: adjust AM dashboard preferences.
See Gain and Shared Controls for SMART, manual gain and RTL AGC. With direct sampling, disabled tuner gain is expected; volume still operates separately.
The dashboard and scan have historical hardware evidence. Reception quality and calibration depend on the receiver, antenna, interference and release build.
The first four images below are the dedicated AM dashboard. The later Radio, Scope and Capture screens show shared receiver views and have different controls.
Known issue: #116 reports that an excessively large direct-tune keypad value can wrap to a wrong frequency. Enter an in-band frequency and check the displayed result.
Connect an antenna suitable for broadcast AM, open AM Radio → Listen, tune a known local station and raise the header volume. Use Finder only after establishing that basic listening works.
These are actual 1280 × 720 Tab5 captures from 29 September 2026, using PNG-capable source 897c60a. They show the interface, not proof of reception. Live and demo refer to capture mode; the source is newer than the published release binary. See Screenshot Catalog for file hashes and provenance.

PR #80: broadcast AM and station finder records the dashboard and scan; PR #113: gain controls records the later gain behavior. The published release identifies the installed package. A merged PR or source test alone does not establish live reception on every setup. Screenshots from the later capture build are identified in Screenshot Catalog.
