Note Linking

Enhanced Notes supports full bidirectional linking between Zotero notes, enabling you to build a structured web of knowledge directly within your bibliography manager.

Bidirectional Links

  • Outbound Links: Links pointing from your current note to another note or item.
  • Inbound Backlinks: Zotero automatically detects links pointing to the current note and displays them as inbound links (backlinks) in the relation and outline panes.
  • Note Navigation: Click on links to jump instantly to the referenced note, making navigating your research easy.

Inserting Links

You can insert note links quickly using the editor's command palette:

  1. Type / (or press ⌃/) in the note editor.
  2. Select Insert Outbound Link (abbreviation: ob) or Insert Inbound Link (abbreviation: ib).
  3. Choose the target note from the list.
