Frequently Asked Questions

Does it cost anything?

No. Al-Quran Quote is free and open source, and the verse data comes from the free quran.com service.

Does it need the internet?

No. It works completely offline using a built-in verse list. Internet is only used if you turn on Online fetch, which lets it pull fresh random verses (and other languages) from quran.com.

Which translation does it use?

By default, the Saheeh International English translation. When online fetch is on, you can switch to many other languages and translations, or the original Arabic. See Languages.

How do I change the verse right now?

Click the small arrow next to the reference, or use the Change verse button on the settings Verse tab.

How do I make it change verses more or less often?

On the Verse tab, set the duration (in seconds), or turn automatic rotation off entirely. See Verses & Content.

Can I show my own verse or dua?

Yes. Turn on Use custom verse on the Verse tab and type your text. See Offline & Custom Verses.

Can I put a verse on each of my monitors?

Yes, up to 8 windows, each independent. See Multiple Windows.

Will I lose my settings when I install an update?

No. When you install a newer .rmskin, your personal settings are preserved.

The panel is in the way. Can I move it?

Yes. Just click and drag it anywhere on the desktop.

The settings icon disappeared. How do I get it back?

It was probably hidden. Open Rainmeter, go to Manage, and load AlQuranQuote\Settings. See Troubleshooting.

It shows boxes or question marks instead of letters.

The chosen font does not include that language's characters. Pick a font that supports the script on the Text tab. See Languages and Troubleshooting.

How do I completely remove it?

Right-click the panel and choose Unload skin, or delete the skin from Rainmeter's Manage window. See Installation.
