Settings Panel
The settings panel is where you customise everything, without touching any files. Changes apply immediately and are remembered between restarts.
- Open: click the small settings icon (three sliders) on the verse panel.
- Close: click the X in the corner of the settings panel, or click the settings icon again.
The panel opens right next to the verse. You can drag it somewhere else if it is in the way.
To keep things tidy, the settings are split into three tabs across the top:
Everything about the words themselves:
- Font, size, style (Bold / Regular / Italic) and colour for the quote.
- The same set of controls for the reference line.
- A drop shadow for the quote, with its own colour and an adjustable offset.
Full details: Text & Appearance.
Everything about the box the text sits in:
- Background colour and transparency.
- Border transparency.
- Width and height (automatic or a fixed size).
- How many windows to show (one per monitor).
- Show or hide the settings icon and the next-verse arrow.
Full details: Panel & Size and Multiple Windows.
Everything about which verse is shown and when:
- Turn automatic rotation on or off, and set the timer.
- Fetch verses online or use the offline list.
- Choose a language for online verses.
- Edit the reference label and show/hide the label or verse number.
- Show your own custom verse.
- A Change verse button and a link to edit the offline verse list.
Full details: Verses & Content.
- Sliders - click anywhere on the bar to set a value, or hover and use your mouse scroll wheel to nudge it up or down.
- Checkboxes - click the box to turn something on or off.
- Colour pickers - a preview swatch plus sliders for Red, Green, Blue, and transparency (Alpha). You can also type the exact numbers.
- Text boxes - click, type your text, and press Enter to apply.
- Lists (fonts, languages) - click to open a list of choices, or type your own value.
On the Verse tab there is a Reset button. It returns every setting to the original defaults. Use it if you have experimented a lot and want a clean start. (Your custom text is cleared too, so copy it first if you want to keep it.)
