Add a frame
Every new frame must be added to your Featherframe webapp before it shows anything. This includes kits, TRMNLs, e-readers, and tablets.
To set up your first frame and your account on Featherframe Cloud, see Set up your frame.
A new frame shows a setup code, and a kit shows a QR code beside it. Add it in any of these ways:
- Scan the QR code: with a phone that's signed in to your Featherframe webapp, scan it, then tap Add this frame to your account.
- Enter the code: in your Featherframe webapp, in the Frames list, click ⋯, then Pair a frame, and enter the code.
- Scan the QR code while signed out: enter your account's email, then click the link in the email Add a frame to Featherframe within 15 minutes.
If you built the frame yourself, you need an invitation to Featherframe Cloud. See Featherframe Cloud.
- Turn the frame on. It shows Add this frame on the Featherframe webapp.
- In your Featherframe webapp, click Add beside the frame at the top of the Frames list.
If you click Ignore, the frame moves to the bottom of the list. You can add it later, or click Forget to remove it.
The frame shows its first picture the next time it checks in. To name it, choose what it shows, or rotate it, click it in the Frames list. See Settings.
To remove a frame, click it, then click Remove. On Featherframe Cloud, it then shows a new setup code, so it can be set up again. See Give the frame away.
Note
On a self-hosted server, a removed frame that's still on asks to be added again. Turn it off first if you're retiring it.
