Multi Device Setup
NAMO can combine radar observations from multiple devices on one shared floorplan. A Site supports up to seven devices in total: the current device and up to six additional devices.
After setup is complete:
- all devices use the same floorplan image and room layout;
- each device keeps its own radar position, direction, and local correction settings;
- observations from active devices are aligned to the shared coordinate system;
- targets seen by more than one radar can be shown as one fused target;
- each device continues local presence sensing if another device becomes unavailable.
Secure connection alone does not enable fusion. A newly connected device remains in Connected · Setup required until its position is aligned and the device is activated.
- Keep both devices powered and connected to the same trusted local network.
- Complete initial setup and save the radar position on both devices.
- Prepare a complete floorplan on at least one of the two devices.
- Start from the configuration source device when adding to an existing multi-device Site.
- Remove or reset an old Site connection on the target before moving it from another Site.
For the most reliable setup, add and calibrate one device at a time.

Open Device Connection on the device that manages the current Site, then select Connect a NAMO device.
If the dashboard says that this device is not the configuration source, use Open configuration source and continue there. This prevents two devices from changing the shared member list at the same time.
On the device being added, open Device Connection and select Allow connection for 3 minutes. You may remain on another tab after enabling it; the connection request notification can appear anywhere in the dashboard.
Return to the starting device and choose the target from the nearby-device list. If discovery does not find it, enter its local IP address manually.
Both devices display a six-digit confirmation code. Confirm only when the two codes match exactly.
This step creates the authenticated device-to-device connection. After it succeeds, the connection record is preserved even if you close the floorplan step and resume later.

- If only one device has a floorplan, select that floorplan.
- If both standalone devices have different floorplans, choose the one that the new Site will use.
- If both devices already have the same floorplan, NAMO keeps it without replacing either copy.
- If you are adding a device to an existing Site, the Site's current floorplan remains authoritative. An incoming device cannot replace it during normal device addition.
The selected image and room layout are shared. Existing radar positions are not copied over each other because each radar has its own physical installation position.
If you cancel this step when the target has no floorplan or a different floorplan, neither floorplan is deleted or overwritten. Reopen Continue connection setup to resume from floorplan selection.
NAMO may ask whether to prepare automatic fallback when only one device is currently eligible to manage coordination. Enabling it is recommended.
Without another eligible fallback device, one device may carry several coordination responsibilities. If that device loses power or has unstable communication, shared detection, coordinate fusion, and configuration changes can stop, and resource pressure may increase the chance of a restart.
You can enable or disable automatic fallback later from the connected-device list.

Select Start position alignment to continue immediately. Select Do it later if the installation area is not ready.
Choosing later does not discard the secure connection. The device remains in Connected · Setup required and does not participate in fusion until alignment and activation are complete.
Open Device Connection and select Continue connection setup for the pending device.
- If the floorplans still need to be resolved, setup resumes at floorplan selection.
- If the shared floorplan is already confirmed, NAMO checks synchronization and continues to position alignment.
- The button can remain disabled briefly while the latest shared state is being confirmed. Wait until Recalibrate and Continue connection setup become available together.
Do not factory-reset a device just because synchronization takes several seconds. Keep both devices powered, wait for the status to settle, and retry first.
Position alignment determines how observations from two radars map onto the same floorplan coordinate system. It does not move either radar marker on its own floorplan.
- Both devices must have a saved radar position.
- Both devices must use the same floorplan and geometry version.
- The floorplan scale must match.
- Use one person only during alignment.
- Stand where both radars can see the same person clearly.
Stand still at a location visible to both radars, wait for both sides to show a stable target, then capture the first position.
For rotation alignment, move sideways by at least 0.8 m and capture a second position. A wider, clearly separated baseline generally gives a more reliable rotation estimate than two nearby points.
Review the translation, rotation, residual error, and shared-room result. Select Approve and activate only when the two observations represent the same person and the result is plausible.

- Confirm that both devices show In use and Online.
- Wait for the group to return to an active state after its short convergence period.
- Walk through the overlap between the two radars.
- One person seen by both radars should normally appear as one fused target.
- Check that the fused position moves through the correct rooms and does not jump when one radar loses sight of the person.
NAMO can track up to three targets. A temporary unfused observation can appear while a target enters or leaves an overlap area; persistent duplicates indicate that radar placement or pair alignment should be checked.
Repeat the same workflow for each additional device. A Site accepts up to seven devices total.
You may securely connect several devices before aligning all of them. Pending devices remain isolated from fusion, and you can complete their position alignment in any order. Only devices marked In use contribute to fused coordinates.
Automatic fallback lets another eligible device take over coordination when the current coordinating device does not respond.
- Local presence sensing continues on each powered device.
- Shared status can briefly show Degraded while roles and credentials converge.
- Wait for the Site to settle before changing the floorplan, member list, or fallback settings again.
- A returning device should rejoin as a normal member when a newer valid authority already exists.
Automatic fallback improves continuity, but it does not turn an unreliable Wi-Fi network into a reliable one. Repeated online/offline changes should be addressed at the network or power source.
Use Remove connected device on the configuration source device. NAMO blocks the shared connection, removes the target from the Site roster, and restarts the target as a standalone device.
The removed device keeps its floorplan, radar position, zones, and sensitivity settings.
Use Leave connected Site on the target. The target asks the configuration source to remove it and then returns to standalone operation.
Keep the online device powered and use the pending disconnection flow. Finish the operation when the other device becomes reachable.
Use Force remove from list only as a last resort. It removes the device from the authoritative member list, but the offline device may still retain stale security records. When it becomes reachable, open Management/Backup on that device and reset its device-to-device security connections before pairing it again.
- Confirm that the target still shows connection permission as active.
- Refresh the nearby-device list.
- Enter the target's local IP address manually.
- Check that both devices are on the same trusted LAN.
Create and save a complete floorplan on either device, then select Continue connection setup again.
Keep both devices on and wait for floorplan and Site synchronization. Close and reopen the setup dialog if the status remains unchanged after the devices are online and stable.
The shared configuration has not converged within the UI wait period. Do not repeat rapid changes. Keep both devices online, wait, then retry Continue connection setup or position alignment.
Check that both radar positions are saved, the same floorplan is present on both devices, and the floorplan scale is valid. If a radar position was edited in another window, close and reopen the alignment dialog to load the latest pose version.
Wait for both devices to become reachable, then refresh the dashboards. If a removal or setup operation was interrupted, finish that pending operation before starting a new pairing attempt.
Remove one device before adding another. Seven includes the device from which you are managing the Site.
