Reporting a Bug

1. Make a support file

  1. Plug a second USB drive (FAT32 or exFAT, 64 MiB free) into the CouchLiteOS box. The boot stick cannot be used.
  2. Open Settings > GENERATE SUPPORT FILE. (Error screens also offer SAVE SUPPORT FILE.)
  3. If more than one drive is offered, pick one with the D-pad and A / Cross.
  4. Wait for SUPPORT FILE CREATED. The screen shows the file name, couchliteos-support-...tar.gz. Do not unplug the drive before then.

The file holds logs and hardware details, not passwords, pairings or browser data. Your LAN IP addresses are included. Details and how to look inside: Support File and Privacy.

If the launcher never appears, a support file cannot be made: photograph the screen instead and note your PC model and graphics card.

2. Open an issue

Open a bug report. The form asks for:

  • CouchLiteOS version (Settings > SOFTWARE UPDATE shows it) and ISO (general or NVIDIA)
  • Live USB or installed
  • PC model, graphics card, and how it is connected (HDMI/DisplayPort, TV model if relevant)
  • What you did, what you expected, what happened
  • The support file (attach it, or drag it into the issue)
  • For iMacs, the output of sudo couchliteos-hardware-report
