Compatibility
UniPanels is designed to work without requiring other content or technology mods.
Additional integrations become available automatically when supported mods are installed.
You do not need Applied Energistics 2, Mekanism or Ars Nouveau to use UniPanels.
Without optional integrations, UniPanels can still discover supported information through generic Minecraft and NeoForge systems.
UniPanels can discover supported information from:
- block states;
- block entities;
- item capabilities;
- fluid capabilities;
- energy capabilities;
- supported NBT values.
This means many blocks can expose useful information even without a dedicated integration.
When Applied Energistics 2 is installed, UniPanels can expose additional AE2-specific source information where supported.
Available values depend on the selected AE2 block.
These values appear in the Source Data Browser under the relevant provider/category.
When Mekanism is installed, UniPanels can expose additional information from supported Mekanism blocks.
The exact data available depends on what the selected machine or block provides.
When Ars Nouveau is installed, UniPanels can expose additional data from supported Ars Nouveau blocks.
Available values appear automatically when the integration and source support them.
Compatibility providers are loaded only when the corresponding mod is present.
UniPanels does not require these mods to start or function.
This means you can install UniPanels in a modpack that does not contain any of the optional integrations.
Mod-specific information appears alongside generic source categories.
Depending on the source, you may see categories such as:
- Block State
- Block Entity
- Capabilities
- NBT
- AE2
- Mekanism
- Ars Nouveau
Only categories with available data are shown.
If a value does not appear in UniPanels, this does not necessarily mean the integration is broken.
Possible reasons include:
- the selected block does not expose that information;
- the value is not available through a supported capability;
- the integration does not currently provide that specific value;
- the source block exposes different information from another block of the same mod.
Compatibility may be affected when supported mods change their APIs or internal data structures.
If an integration stops working after updating another mod, check that you are using compatible versions and report the issue if necessary.
When reporting a compatibility problem, include:
- UniPanels version;
- Minecraft version;
- NeoForge version;
- the affected mod;
- the affected mod's version;
- the source block being used;
- the value you expected to find;
- screenshots or logs when relevant.
