FAQ and Troubleshooting
This page covers common questions and basic troubleshooting for UniPanels.
UniPanels is currently in beta / active development, so some issues or incomplete behavior may still occur.
No.
These integrations are optional.
UniPanels can be used without them.
When supported compatibility mods are installed, additional source data may become available automatically.
See Compatibility.
UniPanels can only display information that the selected source exposes through a supported system.
Check the available categories in the Source Data Browser.
Possible categories include:
- Block State
- Block Entity
- Capabilities
- NBT
- mod-specific provider categories
If the value does not appear, the block may not expose it in a supported form.
The Basic Panel always uses the block directly behind it as its source.
It does not require the Data Display Probe.
Use an Advanced Panel if you need remote or multiple source blocks.
An Advanced Panel supports up to:
4 source slots
Each slot can be configured independently.
Probe-linked Advanced Panel sources can be linked within:
32 blocks
of the panel.
Check:
- Refresh Interval
- Normal / Eco mode
- whether the source value itself is actually changing
The refresh interval can be configured from:
1 to 200 ticks
See Refresh Rate and Eco Mode.
Check whether the entry belongs to a synchronized group.
Grouped entries use the group's:
- Scroll state
- Speed
while they remain members of the group.
Their individual settings are preserved underneath.
See Groups and Synchronized Scrolling.
No.
Creating or joining a group does not automatically enable group scrolling.
Scrolling must be enabled separately for that group.
No.
Individual entry settings remain stored while the entry belongs to a group.
When the entry leaves the group, its normal individual settings become active again.
Yes.
Text and Icon Entries can belong to the same synchronized scrolling group.
They move together while preserving their relative positions.
Not every panel supports face resizing.
Current maximum sizes are:
- Basic Panel — 1 × 1
- Advanced Panel — 3 × 3
- Color Panel — 9 × 9
- Texture Panel — 9 × 9
All current panel types support adjustable thickness from 1 to 16 pixels.
See Dimensions.
UniPanels resizing is anchored to the main placed block.
The panel does not resize outward from its geometric center.
This means asymmetric layouts such as 1 × 9 or 9 × 1 can keep the main block near one edge.
See Dimensions.
A resize operation can be unavailable when:
- the minimum size has been reached;
- the maximum size has been reached;
- the main-block anchor prevents that contraction;
- another existing resize validation rule blocks the change.
Hover the control for more information where available.
Yes.
Use a Texture Panel.
The Texture Browser lets you search available block textures and configure their mapping.
See Texture Mapping.
No.
Texture Panels use Minecraft block textures.
No browser, website or external image host is required.
Check the selected surface's texture mapping.
Available controls include:
- Tile X
- Tile Y
- Zoom X
- Zoom Y
- Offset X
- Offset Y
See Texture Mapping.
Yes, where supported.
Open:
Appearance
and use the Body and Border visibility controls.
See Appearance.
The left-side area can switch between:
- main navigation;
- Live Preview.
Hide the preview to restore the normal navigation sidebar.
Back, Forward and Home remain available at the top.
No.
UniPanels renders its panels natively inside Minecraft.
Try:
- changing Minecraft GUI Scale;
- resizing the game window;
- checking whether a recipe/item browser such as REI or EMI is visible;
- reopening the panel editor.
UniPanels is designed to reserve space for common item-browser layouts, but unusual GUI configurations may still require adjustment.
If a configuration does not persist:
- note which panel type was used;
- note which setting was changed;
- close and reopen the panel;
- save and reload the world;
- check whether the issue still occurs.
If the problem is reproducible, report it as a bug.
Please include:
- UniPanels version
- Minecraft version
- NeoForge version
- panel type
- installed compatibility mods
- affected compatibility-mod versions
- steps to reproduce
- what you expected to happen
- what actually happened
- screenshots where useful
- relevant log output if available
For rendering or GUI issues, screenshots are especially helpful.
For persistence issues, mention whether the problem survives:
- reopening the GUI;
- reloading the world;
- restarting Minecraft.
Use the issue tracker linked from the UniPanels CurseForge or documentation page.
When possible, check whether the problem has already been reported before opening a new issue.
UniPanels is currently in beta / active development.
The existing feature set is usable, but:
- bugs may still be found;
- compatibility may improve;
- interface behavior may be refined;
- additional features may be added in future releases.
