Dreamweaver's Bed

The Dreamweaver's Bed is how players enter and leave the Reverie.

A crafted bed is permanently bound to its crafter. Beds found as loot or taken from the Creative inventory begin unbound and bind to the first player who places them. The binding is shown in the item tooltip and survives breaking, pickup, storage, and replacement, so another player cannot claim a stolen bed by moving it.

The bed's last available place is reserved for its owner. Other players can share it when the configured capacity allows, but the owner must enter first unless an administrator changes that bed's access.

Sneak-use an Overworld bed to see its owner, every current dreamer, and its occupancy and capacity without entering.

With Jade installed, looking at either side of the linked bed shows the same live owner and occupancy information. Jade only adds extra lines when a bed has special access rules or is anchored.

It behaves like a bed when placed. Breaking either half drops it, even by hand, and axes mine it faster. Dreaming does not change your respawn point.

Transitions

  • Entering and awakening provide clear visual and audio feedback to nearby players.
  • Temporary dream effects are cleared on both sides of the transition.

Shared beds

An Overworld bed can support multiple simultaneous dreamers up to maxDreamersPerBed.

Everyone entering through the same Overworld bed shares one arrival bed. The temporary arrival bed remains until the final linked dreamer leaves. Its automatic removal does not drop an item.

If the owner awakens or logs out inside the Reverie, guests receive a 60-second countdown before they are safely awakened. The countdown is cancelled if the owner returns to the same bed's active dream session before it expires. An offline owner does not allow new guests to enter.

An occupied Overworld bed receives a pearled visual effect so other players can see that it is in use. Sneak-use it for the full list of dreamers; the owner's name is highlighted while guest names remain white.

Destruction and fallback

Breaking the waking bed removes its temporary Reverie counterpart. When someone awakens, Reverie uses Minecraft's normal bed exit search to find solid footing and clear standing space beside the bed. If the bed is missing or every exit is obstructed, the player returns to their valid respawn point, respawn anchor, or world spawn instead.

Ownership

An operator can transfer a placed bed with /reverie bed owner <player> while looking at it. The new owner is written to the item the next time that bed is broken.
