The Nether Star unlocks the permanent Starbound upgrade.
Use it twice on your own Dreamweaver's Bed in the Overworld. The first use confirms the choice; the second consumes the item in Survival and applies Starbound to the player.
The upgrade cannot be repeated and remains active if the bed is moved or replaced.
