QuotaPin 2.0.0-beta.3

This prerelease moves the 2.x placement work onto the v1.3.1 reliability baseline. It does not replace v1.3.1 as Latest and never enters QuotaPin's stable in-product update feed.

Keep the Composition card geometrically stable while live clocks tick. Time controls now use a fixed semantic grid, so a slightly wider seconds glyph cannot add a row during drag or tab changes.
Carry forward the Windows detached-updater SHA-256 fix, bounded Agent build preparation, clean first-install teardown, and Windows 11 ARM64 x64-emulation release acceptance.
Keep the isolated Chromium product gate deterministic on slower hosts with background services disabled, explicit early-exit reporting, and a bounded 90-second startup window.
Make the local Preview Lab report the version actually present in VERSION instead of a stale hardcoded footer.
Preserve Beta.2 multi-surface placement, surface-following hold gestures, collision-aware module dragging, account/composer quota lines, and opt-in account-wide pace and runway modules.

The reviewed public assets are QuotaPin-2.0.0-beta.3.exe and QuotaPin-macOS-2.0.0-beta.3.dmg. The local gate passed 319 tests, production-rendered fixture and forecast captures, a 70-frame drag capture, and an absolute-clock cadence check before tagging. The tagged workflow independently rebuilds and exercises both platform packages. This is an explicit preview cohort: later betas are not installed automatically, and the stable update channel remains on v1.3.1.

This patch release makes Windows package verification independent of PowerShell module auto-loading.

Windows 10 version 2004 or later is supported on x64. Windows 11 ARM64 runs the same x64 package through native emulation and remains covered by the release gate.

Fix an in-app Windows update failure that could occur after a package download when a detached Windows PowerShell 5.1 process could not resolve its module-provided hashing command.
Use the same .NET SHA-256 implementation as the release trust boundary in both the in-app updater and public Windows bootstrap.
Preserve the existing transactional update behavior: configuration and install ownership stay intact, and Codex is never closed or relaunched.
Add a Windows PowerShell regression gate that disables module auto-loading and proves package hashing still succeeds.

If an older installation shows an update failure before it can install this fix, run Windows Quick Start once; it preserves the existing configuration and installation flavor.

This stable release keeps the v1.2 account-row interface and promotes only the beta work that has an independent, bounded contract.

Windows 10 version 2004 or later is supported on x64. Windows 11 ARM64 runs the same x64 package through native emulation and is accepted by the release gate.

Add optional account-wide burn pace and estimated runway modules. They use only official remaining-percentage history, wait for enough evidence, reset calibration at quota renewal, and keep uncertainty in hover instead of widening the row.
Keep compact and localized time modules aligned to absolute timestamps, including live runway boundaries, so delayed renderer work cannot accumulate clock drift.
Make built-in hover details more useful with localized reset context, forecast detail when available, and exact token totals from their existing sources.
Keep stable update discovery stable-only. Betas remain exact-version installs and never enter the normal update picker.
Preserve startup ownership across the verified Windows installer handoff so a failed replacement cannot silently disable automatic attachment.
Require install, execution, and uninstall acceptance of the x64 Windows package on a native Windows 11 ARM64 runner before publication.

The 2.x multi-position interface remains a prerelease experiment and is not enabled by this stable release.

This prerelease continues the 2.x placement work on the v1.2.1 stability baseline. It does not replace v1.2.1 as Latest and never enters QuotaPin's stable in-product update feed.

Place quota in four verified surfaces: the account row, title center, workspace top, or above the composer. The inconsistent composer-side experiments have been retired and migrate safely to the account row.
Hold anywhere inside the visible quota surface. The panel follows that real surface, and the original account row no longer keeps a hidden QuotaPin hold target after quota moves elsewhere.
Drag modules at every supported position with the same exact pointer tracking, collision avoidance, neighbour spring, and left/center/right/module magnets used by the account row.
Choose the account or composer quota line directly on the same work-surface map.
Optionally show recent account-wide burn pace and estimated runway. The independent estimator uses only official remaining-percentage history, resets calibration at quota renewal, and waits for enough time and movement before reporting a value.
Keep preview cohorts explicit: beta packages are installed by exact version and do not discover later betas through automatic or manual update checks.
Migrate schema 18 configuration to schema 19 without enabling the new forecast modules or changing an existing stable placement.

QuotaPin 1.2.1 is a focused Windows stability fix for the guided tray attach path.

Windows requires x64 Windows 10 version 2004 or later; Windows 11 is the verified baseline. The macOS package remains CI-validated with signed-in real-device and Gatekeeper acceptance provisional.

Fixed guided auto-attach: the tray now supplies the source Codex creation time, a unique attachment generation, and the atomic handoff ticket required by the launcher.
Failed handoffs recover cleanly: a failed attempt removes only its own pending ticket instead of leaving a stale transaction behind.
No installation restart: the repair does not close or relaunch an already-running Codex session.
Same package policy: the Windows executable and universal macOS disk image remain the only public release assets.

The previous 1.2.0 release remains immutable history. Users on 1.2.0 should update to 1.2.1 before relying on guided tray auto-attach.

QuotaPin 1.2.0 repairs the update path, keeps long-running quota delivery quiet and current, and makes the macOS package dramatically smaller.

Reliable Windows update launch: panel and tray updates now cross an attached PowerShell launcher and publish a bounded start receipt before QuotaPin reports that the update began.
No duplicate handoff: setup waits for the updater's ownership receipt before supervising the replacement Agent.
One-time bridge from older Windows builds: QuotaPin 1.1.2 and earlier can fail before their updater starts. Run the 1.2.0 installer or Quick Start once; settings are preserved and the running Codex session stays open.
Quieter renderer delivery: identical documents are no longer delivered repeatedly, reducing needless layout work and removing a source of intermittent module flashes.
Stable quota line: account-row resize keeps quota-line geometry attached to the real row without a delayed catch-up frame.
Thin macOS host: the universal package uses a small integrity-verifying native host and the signed runtime already inside official Codex instead of embedding another complete runtime.
Bounded macOS recovery: runtime rediscovery backs off after an unavailable or changed Codex path rather than spinning or downloading a substitute.
Maintained support floor: the in-product version picker now offers 1.2.0 and later. Older Releases remain immutable history, not supported rollback targets.
No forced Codex restart: installation, repair, and update never close or relaunch a running Codex session.

QuotaPin 1.1.2 keeps long-running quota honest and adds a true full-width account-row quota line.

Durable live recovery: Windows tray, Windows quiet watcher, and the macOS watcher can resume an exited Agent against the same verified Codex session with bounded backoff—without reopening or restarting Codex.
No frozen percentage: the renderer receives a lightweight heartbeat. If delivery disappears, the old value is replaced by an unavailable state instead of remaining on screen as if it were current.
App Server self-healing: repeated read or initialization timeouts retire the dead child and continue bounded recovery rather than exhausting a permanent retry budget.
Two quota-line widths: Quick can keep the line under the visible quota modules or stretch it across the usable account row. Legacy stops before Codex Help; Beta uses the complete expanded row.
Update supervision preserved: a command-mode hot update republishes exact watcher ownership for the resumed Agent. Guided installs remain tray-owned, and saved settings stay intact.
Smaller macOS delivery: launcher and Agent now share one universal self-contained host instead of packaging two complete runtimes. Upgrades stop only the exact previous Agent before the atomic swap.
Bounded remote documents: update metadata and loopback CDP target lists are byte-limited and strictly decoded before JSON parsing.
No forced Codex restart: updates reconnect only to the exact verified running process. If verification fails, the new version waits for the next normal launch.
