Getting Started

Find your first book

After installing Biblio, explore newly generated structures and open their loot containers. Biblio adds books to vanilla structure chest loot without replacing the chest's normal contents.

Ordinary structure chests receive one Biblio book, village chests receive two to four, and stronghold library chests receive six to ten, provided eligible books are enabled. See Chest Loot and Configuration for details.

Previously generated or opened containers are not retroactively rerolled.

Read and identify a copy

A Biblio book includes the work's title and author or cultural attribution. Longer works also identify their natural division, volume, and part. Lore and custom metadata distinguish its physical quality and whether it is signed.

Read Books, Qualities, and Serialized Works for the meaning of each condition.

Try a sample

With operator permission or cheats enabled, run:

/biblio sample

This gives a small sampler without requiring exploration.

Give a specific book

Type the command and use tab completion to choose a work or serialized section:

/biblio give <book>

You can request a quality and signed state:

/biblio give frankenstein quality=fine signed=false

Configure chest loot

Operators can open the settings screen with either command:

/biblio
/biblio settings

Left-click to move through the catalog. Right-click a shelf to enable or disable everything below it. Changes are saved when the menu closes and apply to future loot rolls.

Build a display collection

Operators can place the complete unsigned First Edition collection with:

/biblio collection

The command places an organized barrel wall two blocks south of the executing player and replaces blocks in the required positions. Use it only in a prepared area. Other qualities can be requested; see Catalog and Commands.
