Biblio is a NeoForge mod. The reviewed source does not provide a Fabric build or a classic Forge build.

Install Biblio

1. Install Minecraft 1.21.1 and a compatible NeoForge 21.1.x release.
2. Download the Biblio NeoForge JAR from an approved Biblio release location.
3. Put the JAR, unchanged, in the instance's mods folder.
4. Start the game and confirm Biblio appears in the loaded mod list.

The build names release files using this pattern:

Biblio-<version>-NeoForge-1.21.1.jar

Do not download GitHub's repository-wide Source code (zip) and place it in mods; that archive is source code, not the mod.

Client and server

For multiplayer, install the same Biblio JAR on the server and on connecting clients. The chest settings screen is client-facing, while loot selection and saved settings are controlled by the server.

Optional Scholar integration

Scholar 1.2.4 or newer adds story-themed covers, enhanced title-page presentation, varied signature ink, and animated effects for the lowest-condition copies. Biblio remains readable without Scholar. See Scholar Compatibility for details.

Install Scholar on both sides when using it on a multiplayer server.

Do not double-load Biblio data

The repository also retains a legacy datapack ZIP for compatibility testing. Do not install that datapack in a world that already loads the Biblio mod JAR. Doing so can load Biblio's data twice.

Existing worlds

Biblio can be added to an existing world, but loot that has already been generated is not rerolled. Explore newly generated structures or open previously unopened loot containers to find Biblio books.

Removing Biblio

Back up the world first. Removing the mod removes Biblio's loot injection and command interface; existing written-book items may remain in inventories or containers, but optional presentation supplied by other mods may no longer appear as before.
