An ancient sword cannot be crafted. It can only be found as loot in the structures.

Like other swords, an ancient sword can be used to deal melee damage to mobs and players, and to break certain blocks faster than by hand.
When used to strike a warden, an ancient sword banishes it for 20 seconds. The sword itself is destroyed in the process, consumed entirely by the act.
