User Manual
A GPS lap timer. This manual walks through every screen and every setting on the device.
New to it? Read Getting Started first — it covers the one gesture you cannot guess, and the one thing that stops the timer working out of the box.
| Page | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Getting Started | First power-on, what you see, and your first session |
| Moving Around | The five gestures, and a map of every menu |
| Modes | The eight modes and when to use each |
| The Session Screens | Ready, running, rest and review |
| Settings | Every setting, what it does, and what it accepts |
| Tracks | Choosing a circuit, and why timing may not arm |
| Diagnostics and Troubleshooting | What the device reports, and what to do when something is wrong |
- Hold a finger on the screen to open the menu. Nothing else opens it.
- Tap to choose. Swipe left and right to move between choices. Swipe down to go back.
- Pick your Mode, pick your Track, then start a session.
Timing only arms on a circuit whose geometry has been validated. Every circuit in the supplied UK pack is marked provisional, which means the device will load it, show its name, and run as a plain session timer — but it will not time laps.
This is deliberate rather than unfinished. A start/finish line taken from a map can be out by tens of metres, and a lap time measured against a line in the wrong place is worse than no lap time, because it looks correct. Tracks explains how a circuit becomes timing-ready.
- Time laps against an unvalidated circuit. See above.
- Show a compass while parked. The heading comes from your direction of travel, so standing still there is nothing to show. There is no magnetic sensor.
- Show a clock in British Summer Time. It reads GMT all year.
- Replace a transponder. It is a GPS timer and it is honest about its own accuracy, but it is not a sanctioned timing system.
Set the device up before you go out. Do not operate it while driving — the menu is deliberately behind a press-and-hold so a knock cannot open it, but that is a safeguard against accidents, not an invitation to use it on the move.
Track Day mode withholds live lap times on purpose: many track days run under regulations that prohibit timing on circuit. Laps are still recorded and are available in Review afterwards.
