Grokipedia Proposal — Deep Ethics as a Working Concept

Status: submission source packet and candidate article. It is not a claim that Grokipedia has accepted or published the article.

This is the official ACCM Deep Ethics Project proposal packet. Any resulting Grokipedia article would remain a Grokipedia-controlled representation. Under Grokipedia's current contribution model, a registered user can suggest a new article or correction, but cannot directly publish or edit the final article. Preserve the submitted version and audit the platform's transformation separately.

Candidate title

Deep ethics (proposed working concept)

Candidate lead

Deep ethics, in the usage developed by the ACCM Deep Ethics Project, is a proposed process-oriented and corrigible approach to ethics that evaluates how faithfully an object is preserved across observation, evidence gathering, representation, judgment, action, consequences and later correction. The proposal emphasizes correspondence with reality, construction before correction, preservation of claim type and provenance, bidirectional scrutiny, and whether a recognized correction changes subsequent behavior. It is presented as a developing working concept rather than a completed ethical theory or replacement for established moral philosophy and professional ethics.

Overview

The proposal begins from the question: “What happened to the object while you were producing the answer?” An object may be a reported event, document, experience, scientific claim, institutional statement, risk assessment or A.I. prompt. The method compares the source object with later representations to identify omissions, substitutions, qualifier loss, changes in claim status and failures of correction.

The term deep is used operationally rather than as a claim of authority. A representation is considered deeper when it preserves the relations needed for the stated purpose. Length alone is not treated as depth.

Development

The ACCM Deep Ethics Project was initiated by Dutch researcher John Kuhles. Its public account distinguishes three developmental clocks: a wider research trajectory of more than 36 years; more than 34 years living the original ten orientation ingredients before writing them down; and the addition of an eleventh integrative ingredient in late 2024 during sustained work with generative A.I. systems.

The project subsequently developed through longitudinal interaction with multiple A.I. models, preservation of raw conversations, public reconstruction, model-comparison experiments and correction records. These materials are treated as source and exploratory evidence rather than independent validation.

Main components

The proposal connects several working components:

  • 10+1: mutually corrective orientation ingredients emphasizing self-honesty, inquiry, learning, correction, care, wonderment, non-projection and forgiveness without architectural immunity.
  • 27 correspondence obstructions: a taxonomy of recurring ways representations may become detached from their source objects.
  • 12-stage Correspondence-First Deep Inquiry Protocol: an experimental procedure that places construction and self-audit before judgment.
  • C1 before C2: clarification before corrective or tactical intervention.
  • Topologetics: a proposed method for compressing material while preserving purpose-relevant relations, qualifiers, provenance and correction status.
  • Correction Metabolism: a test of whether acknowledging a correction changes the next comparable operation.
  • Believism: a critique of replacing a claim’s evidential or experiential route with a generic belief attribution.

Epistemic and ethical commitments

The proposal treats knowledge as potentially strong and operationally dependable without requiring metaphysical infallibility. Different claim types require different audits. A direct experience, public fact, historical reconstruction, working hypothesis, value judgment and explicit belief should not be evaluated as though they share the same access structure.

It also applies scrutiny bidirectionally. Unusual claims remain auditable, while official statements, institutional risk classifications, safety claims and corrective frames do not receive automatic immunity.

Governance

Project stewardship is summarized by the statement: “John has veto power over project drift. Reality has veto power over John.” The first clause preserves source and project identity; the second rejects permanent personal authority over correspondence. The project describes itself as early beta, draft, trial and error.

Research status and criticism

The proposal has not been established as a validated scientific or psychometric framework. Its taxonomies and methods require controlled testing, operational definitions, scorer-reliability analysis, comparison with simpler alternatives, valid-null reporting and external replication.

Potential failure modes include excessive terminology, interpretive flexibility, recursive self-reference, verbosity mistaken for depth, overfitting to one person’s interaction history, and using project language as a substitute for evidence. The project explicitly states that its tools should audit the framework itself.

Relation to established ethics

The ACCM Deep Ethics Project does not present its proposal as replacing established ethical traditions, academic ethics, professional codes, law or safety engineering. It offers a cross-cutting process question: whether an ethical or evaluative procedure preserves its object, exposes its transformations, remains answerable to evidence and permits correction to propagate.

Independent-source boundary

The sources above establish what the project proposes and how it describes its development. They do not independently establish effectiveness, scientific validity, public influence or notability. Those claims require external sources and should be absent or explicitly bounded until such sources exist.

Submission checklist

  • Search Grokipedia for an existing “Deep ethics” article and inspect its scope.
  • Distinguish the ACCM proposal from earlier or unrelated uses of the phrase.
  • Submit the concept as proposed and developing, not established fact.
  • Keep project-controlled sources labeled as primary.
  • Add independent sources only when they directly support external reception or evaluation.
  • Preserve research-status and criticism sections.
  • Archive the exact submitted text and submission date.
  • Compare any published article with this source packet.
  • Record additions, omissions, changed claim status and citations.
  • Propose corrections where Grokipedia’s transformation materially changes the object.
