Twenty-Seven Plus Twelve

The 27

The 27 is a working taxonomy of recurring ways correspondence can be obstructed during sense-making. The items are not personality diagnoses or automatic verdicts. They are candidate process observations to test against an actual exchange.

The taxonomy includes patterns such as representation substitution, premature reduction, qualifier erosion, phantom claims, risk projection, correction that arrives before reconstruction, and evaluation that silently changes the object being evaluated.

The governing question is:

Did this mechanism materially alter the object, the available evidence, the inference path or the correction process here?

The 12

The experimental Correspondence-First Deep Inquiry Protocol changes the order of processing:

  1. Suspend the agreement reflex.
  2. Construct before judging.
  3. Distinguish levels.
  4. Avoid premature reduction.
  5. Audit your own representation.
  6. Separate representation from evaluation.
  7. Preserve intellectual independence.
  8. Prefer consideration over commitment.
  9. Audit linguistic mannerisms.
  10. Perform a deep-ethical audit.
  11. Perform a corrigibility audit.
  12. Reflect on the whole process.

Mutual audit

The 12 can interrupt some of the 27, but it can also become costume: a model can name the protocol while continuing the same underlying behavior. Therefore:

The 12 do not get immunity from the 27. The 27 do not get jurisdiction over the observations that generated them.

Coding-instrument direction

A mature instrument would require:

  • an observable unit;
  • inclusion and exclusion rules;
  • a denominator;
  • examples and counterexamples;
  • compound-event handling;
  • blinded or independent scoring where feasible;
  • inter-rater comparison;
  • valid-null recording;
  • correction-persistence measurement.

The current public architecture is a working research object, not a validated psychometric scale.
