FAQ

Can I play it?

Not yet. The repository contains the build skeleton, CI and placeholder art; the mechanics exist as a detailed design, summarized on this wiki. Gameplay starts with milestone M2. See Roadmap.

Why NeoForge and not Fabric?

Create 6 and CC: Tweaked for 1.21.1 are first-class on NeoForge, and the mod depends on both. A Fabric port is not planned.

Do I need Create and CC: Tweaked?

Create is required: it supplies the mechanics (shafts, stress, cranes, fluid handling, Ponder). CC: Tweaked is optional: it supplies the Lua computers for the DCS/SCADA level. Without it the plant runs on analog desks, relays and PLCs. See Create Integration and Automation Platform.

Will it use Forge Energy (FE/RF)?

Not as the main energy. Inside the complex, power flows through the mod's own AC grid with frequency, voltage, reactive power and protection relays (Energy Grid). Forge Energy is the boundary with other mods: the grid_fe_interface block exchanges power between a grid bus and FE at a configurable rate (energy.j_per_fe, default 2.5 J/FE). Turbine shaft power maps to Create stress through energy.w_per_su.

How realistic is the reactor?

The domain models point kinetics with delayed neutron groups, reactivity feedbacks, xenon and samarium poisoning, decay heat and two-phase thermal hydraulics on IAPWS-IF97 water properties. Every constant is either physical with a source or marked as a balance value. See Reactor Physics.

Can a meltdown wreck my server?

Damage goes through a server-wide damage budget, and server modes control how far consequences reach, down to a contained mode where nothing outside the containment is destroyed. See Multiplayer and Accidents.

Are there nuclear weapons?

No. Weapons, explosions-as-a-feature, magic, space and NPC workers are out of scope by design.

Will it lag my server?

Performance is a design pillar: the simulation budget is ≤ 3 ms per tick (p95) for the reference complex, and exceeding it is treated as a bug. The simulation core is plain Java in pc-sim, tested and benchmarked headless. See Architecture.

Can I read the full design document?

No, it is private. The wiki covers the mechanics in English, and design questions are welcome in issues.

What license is it under?

All Rights Reserved. The source is public for reference. See LICENSE and CONTRIBUTING.

How can I help?

Report build problems, discuss the design in issues (the "Design proposal" template asks for real-world references), or pick a small task after agreeing on it in an issue.
