Command ads

NTFS Alternate Data Streams: invisible, forgotten, and sometimes useful.

Quick summary

Windows only. ads shows or manipulates the NTFS Alternate Data Streams of the archives (ex. the CRC-32 stored by a ... -ads).

Power user usage

• -kill remove the ADS
• -only X only the ADS named X
• -force rebuild the ADS CRC-32

Dispatched as command S to ads() (only in #ifdef _WIN32). The ADS is written by a ... -ads (see a).

Real-world examples

Show the ADS

zpaqfranz ads z:\1.zpaq

Remove all the ADS, then only the old filelist

zpaqfranz ads z:\*.zpaq -kill
zpaqfranz ads z:\*.zpaq -only zpaqlist -kill

Rebuild the ADS CRC-32

zpaqfranz ads z:\1.zpaq -force
