Paranoid, but on an SSD: every stored hash rebuilt and checked.

Quick summary

pp is a paranoid test of an SSD-based archive: it rebuilds and verifies all stored hashes (if present). Avoid it on large archives stored on HDDs.

Power user usage

  • -noeta brief, no ETA; -verbose show unsuccessful checks
  • -verify re-read the files from disk and compare hashes (with -find/-replace)
  • -paranoid bijective check archive <-> filesystem (missing on either side, size mismatches)
  • -n X limit warnings to X lines (counting continues)
  • -ssd run a pre-franzen check (if any)
  • -ramsize X limit RAM
  • Not in the ANCIENT builds.

Lo spiegone

Dispatched as command P to paranoidseq() (only in #ifndef ANCIENT). Compare with p.

Real-world examples

As much RAM as available; limited to 5 GB

zpaqfranz pp z:\1.zpaq
zpaqfranz pp z:\1.zpaq -ramsize 5GB

Re-read and verify, with path substitution

zpaqfranz pp j:\1.zpaq -verify -find "g:/" -replace "u:/omare/g/"

Full paranoid test

zpaqfranz pp j:\1.zpaq -verify -paranoid
