RISKY: it can overwrite drives. Read the whole page before pressing Enter.

Quick summary

Windows only. image restores/exports the drive images made by a ... -image.

Power user usage

  • -image enable the physical write (otherwise output to a file)
  • -ntfs handle NTFS / thin (sparse, optimized) images
  • -raw raw sector-by-sector mode (bypasses the filesystem)
  • -space do not check if the destination partition is empty
  • .vhd files can be mounted (OSFMount, FTK Imager) and opened with 7-Zip for extraction

Lo spiegone

Dispatched as command E to restoreimage() (only in #ifdef _WIN32).
