Upload, verify, rsync to an SFTP server. Without installing anything else (well, almost).

Quick summary

sftp runs verb-noun commands against SFTP servers: upload, verify, quick (QUICK hash of a remote file), ls, delete, size, rsync (local files to a remote folder; -force: do NOT append), 1on1 (quick compare), mkdir. Only in the builds with SFTP (Makefile: ENABLE_SFTP=yes, the default), never in -DOPEN builds.

Power user usage

  • -host IPv4 hostname
  • -user, -password credentials, or -ssh an SSH key
  • -port (ex. 22)
  • -bandwidth limit the global speed
  • -ssd multithread

Lo spiegone

Dispatched as command @ to sftp() (inside #ifdef ZPAQFULL and #ifdef SFTP).

Real-world examples

Upload a file, then verify it

zpaqfranz sftp upload j:\1.zpaq /tmp/bak -host 1.2.3.4 -user k1 -password pippo -port 23
zpaqfranz sftp verify j:\1.zpaq /tmp/bak/1.zpaq -host 1.2.3.4 -user k1 -password pippo -port 23

Rsync, multithread, with a speed limit

zpaqfranz sftp rsync d:\test* /home/fra -ssd -host 1.2.3.4 -user k1 -password pippo -bandwidth 5m

List with an SSH key

zpaqfranz sftp ls /tmp -host 1.2.3.4 -user k1 -ssh theopensshkey.key
