Your coins are in your coin purse: an item in your inventory, a container that takes coins. Tap the coins in the character panel to open it. Players don't see the purse in their inventory list (it's GM only: see Catalog and Custom Items#visible-to); the GM sees it, and can make it visible to everyone.

Coins are items (a Gold piece, a Silver piece…: Treasure ▸ Coin in the catalog). The ones in your purse show in its details, not in your inventory list. Others can go elsewhere: a pouch, a chest, a piggy bank, or your person.

The coin purse

The coins come from the campaign's game system. D&D 5e's are pp, gp, ep, sp and cp; another system can have its own (with no game system: gold, silver and copper).

  • The purse lists its coins as rows, like any container's contents: change a count to change your coins.
  • Quick transaction: type an amount (1 to start with), pick the coin, and Gain or Spend. Spending makes change for you: paying 5 sp with only gold gives you silver back. Gaining a fraction (1.5 gp) adds its exact worth in smaller coins.
  • Consolidate swaps everything into the coins shops pay in (D&D 5e: gold, silver and copper).
  • Elsewhere lists coins kept somewhere else (in a container, or on your person), with Open. They count in your coins unless the container keeps them apart (a piggy bank); a sealed one's aren't listed.
  • Move coins like any item: Move to… or drag them (into a container that takes coins: see Containers); Split stack to move some.

Gains go in the purse. Spending takes coins from your purse first, then from elsewhere (not from containers keeping them apart). The purse can be renamed or put in a backpack, but not removed, sold or traded.

In D&D 5e, coins weigh something (50 coins to the pound), unless you turn that off in Settings and Backups. A system whose coins weigh nothing doesn't offer the setting.

Prices show in the system's main coin. Money that isn't decimal (twelve pennies to the shilling, say) shows as coins: 4 sh 2 d, not 4.17 sh.

Buying and selling

  • Buy in an item's catalog entry pays its price from your purse, with change.
  • Sell in an item's details sells it at whatever percentage of its price you choose (half, by default).
  • Shops have their own prices, and pay for what you sell them.
