Trading

In a party, players can swap items and coins in a trade window you both see.

Starting a trade

Press Trade on a player's card in the Party tab, or Trade in an item's details (that item goes in straight away). If you're already trading with them, it takes you back to that trade.

The trade opens for both of you. On a wide screen it docks beside your inventory, so you can keep looking through your things; on a phone it fills the screen. It opens for the other player by itself, or waits in their Shared tray if they're busy (see Party Play).

A trade, docked beside the inventory

Making the deal

Each side is what that player gives:

  • Your side: drag items in from your inventory (a wide screen), or + Add to pick them (for a stack, choose how many). Add coins and a note if you like. × takes something out.
  • Ask for… something of theirs: it shows on their side, dashed, with Put it in for them.
  • Items you keep at hand are in the At hand drawer: drag one onto your side, or tap it for Put it in what you give.

Both of you see every change as it happens. When you're happy, press Agree. Any change to either side clears both agreements, so nobody agrees to something that changed afterwards.

The same trade on the other player's phone

Once you both agree, everything changes hands at once, and each of you is told what you got and gave. If it can't be made (one of you no longer has something), it says why and stays open.

Walk away ends the trade for both of you. It also ends if either of you leaves the party. Finished trades, made or walked away from, are listed under Recent trades on the Party tab.

Giving a container gives what's in it and strapped to it too. A deck of cards goes with its cards. An item's own Local values go with it (a lantern's oil, an abacus's count).

Showing an item

Show… in an item's menu (or Show in its details) shows it to players you choose, or the GM. It opens for them as a shared screen: its details, its notes, what's in it. Nothing changes hands. It stays in their Shared tray until you end it (End in your tray, under Yours). (What it could become, its layers, isn't sent.)

Discarding

In a party, Remove is Discard: the item goes to the GM, into a Discarded hoard in their Items → Treasure, ready to give out again (see Treasure). What was in a container stays with you. If no GM is connected, it waits at the host.
