Hardware and I²C

Hardware declarations come from each plug-in manifest and are checked by OSPy before activation. A declaration records the resource that can be used; it does not prove that the device is connected or correctly wired.

Selectable I²C addresses

Water Meter and Wind Speed Monitor each declare one selectable PCF8583 address, 0x50 or 0x51. They can run together when different addresses are selected. If the preferred address is already occupied during activation, OSPy selects a free alternative when possible. Either settings page rejects an address already used by another enabled plug-in, preserves the preceding settings and displays the conflict.

Other fixed-address I²C devices must not overlap. Check the plug-in page, the wiring diagram and the actual bus with the operating-system I²C tools before enabling hardware.
