What it is for

Checks binary pipe pressure while the master station runs and can stop irrigation when pressure is missing.

How it works and how to configure it

Tested in Python 3+

The plug-in includes a plugin.json manifest and reports its worker, monitoring configuration, pressure input, master state, latest check, safety shutdown and errors through the OSPy system health interface.

Version 1.1.0 implements the read-only ospy.provider.v1 contract. It exposes the cached binary pressure-present and master-active states; it does not report an invented pressure value in bar or kPa and never reads GPIO on a provider request.

This plugin checked pressure in pipe, if master station is switched on must be activated pressure sensor. If is not sensor activated in a certain time, switches off all station and sends E-mail with error. Prevent safety for master station pump.

Plugin setup

  • Check Use pressure sensor for master station: If checked use pressure sensor for master station plugin is enabled. Pressure sensor is connected between GPIO 18 - pin 12 and ground.

  • Check Use Normally open: If checked normally open sensor without pressure has contact open.

  • Max time to activate pressure sensor: Type maximum certain time to activate pressure in pipe. Maximum time is 999 seconds.

  • Stop this run stations in scheduler: Stoping these stations if no pressure in pipe. Selector for stop stations in scheduler

  • Check Send email with error: If checked send E-mail with error E-mail notification plugin sends E-mail with error. For this function required E-mail notification plugin with all setup in plugin.

  • Enable local logging: Enable logging and graphing.

  • Check Enable SQL logging: If checked enabled logging save measure value to SQL database. This option requires the Database Connector extension to be installed and configured. The button will delete the pressmonitor table from the database, thus deleting all saved data from this extension! This promotion is non-refundable!

  • Select filter for graph history Without limits Day filter Month filter Year filter

  • Status: Status window from the plugin.

The hardware should be connected as follows:

Recommend using optocoupler between GPIO and sensor. Visit Martin Pihrt's blog. for more information.

In-app help and settings notes

The following notes are generated from the help page shipped with this plug-in. Field names are also explained directly in the OSPy settings page.

This plugin checked pressure in pipe, if master station is switched on must be activated pressure sensor.

If is not sensor activated in a certain time, switches off all station and sends E-mail with error. Prevent safety for master station pump.

If logging is enabled, a graph with measured data will be displayed at the bottom of the screen

Pressure sensor is connected to Raspberry Pi header

On the main OSPy board by pihrt.com is already installed connector for this probe.
