Issues

This page lists a number of critical issues, in rough order of priority, which must be addressed before MeqTrees can be offered as a regular data reduction package to average users. Since the MeqTrees core team is too small, we rely heavily on the more talented user-developers in the CCC-network to help us in this.

Short-term: Things we need before the summer (of 2009)

• Local Sky Model (LSM) SSSC needs it.

• PyNodePlot In particular, a replacement of pylab for plotting. SSSC tutorials can be a lot better with some more advanced plots.

• Parameter Management System (PMS) Book-keeping, visualization (in groups), operations like smoothing, transfer between observations (a naming issue), etc. All with a nice GUI.

• Script Exchange Mechanism (SEM) ...Chris suggested Taverna this week...

• Quick Reference Documentation About available MeqNodes and moderately stable subtrees. In the form of working trees, that can be played with.

Medium-term: Things we need before the end of the year (2009)

• Better tree building tools Frameworks with even less of the guts hanging out, and perhaps a Tree Building Gui (TBG). In addition, a more able TDL option manager, and help with generating unique node names.
