Diamond Shears are an item used for getting special drops from trees. They function identically to Wooden Shears.
They were added in Version 1.4.

This item functions just like Wooden Shears, in that they are used for gathering special drops from Leaf blocks.
Hold a Punnet in the offhand while using Diamond Shears to break Leaf blocks to get their loot.
Despite having 1500 durability, they can be broken quickly when mining several large trees at once. Players can enchant Diamond Shears with Unbreaking (or even Mending) if they're serious about not losing 2 whole diamonds on shears.
