Tomato Seeds are an item that can be planted to grow Tomatoes.
They were added in... gee, well I want to say Version 1.0-alpha? Whenever Tomatoes showed up. I don't remember.

Tomato Seeds can be obtained from Punnet Gathering Grass blocks, from breaking Tomato crops, from some loot chests, or by crafting a Tomato into seeds manually.
Only the Punnet Gathering recipe is shown here, however.
