Arm architecture specifies a set of rules that dictate how the hardware works when a particular instruction is executed.

It is a contract between the hardware and the software, defining how they interact with one another.

ARM bit-banding

ARM bit-banding is a hardware feature in select Cortex-M processors (like Cortex-M3 and M4) that maps a single bit of memory to a full 32-bit word in a separate "alias" region. This allows for atomic, single-cycle bit manipulation without needing traditional read-modify-write instructions (like AND/OR masks)
