If you are attending a hands-on seminar on Clojure or Datomic, you should bring a laptop with the following software already installed.

  • Oracle JDK 1.7 or later (make sure to get the JDK, not just the JRE)
  • Editor or IDE of your choice.
  • The most recent stable release of Clojure.
  • The most recent stable release of Leiningen.
  • The most recent release of Datomic.
  • The most recent stable release of git.

Once you have git installed, clone the exploring-clojure template project, and then run lein deps to install supporting libraries on your local machine.

If you are not already proficient with any of the editor/IDE choices above, I would recommend Clooj (limited, but super-easy to install), or Eclipse + Counterclockwise (the kitchen sink).

Please feel free to contact us if you have any trouble.
