Using the MDT

The MDT (Mobile Data Terminal) is the in-car CAD for LEO, Fire/EMS and Coroner units.
Open it with O or /mdt while on duty.
The MDT keeps the game running underneath, so with it open you can still:
- Move your character
- Talk on the radio — the radio key still works
- Use the mouse on the UI without turning your camera or firing your weapon
Typing is captured by the MDT only while a text field is focused, so your keystrokes never leak into game keybinds. Close with the X in the UI, the /mdt command, or O again.
Set your unit status from the status grid or the dropdown. Typical statuses:
AVAILABLE/CLEAR · ENROUTE · ON SCENE · CODE SIX · BUSY · UNAVAILABLE · OUT TO STATION
- Station button → sets you OUT TO STATION and clears your active incident.
- Toolbar buttons like Traffic Stop / Code 6 create or update the matching incident and set your status in one click.
- The Calls tab lists active incidents (from units and from dispatch).
- Open an incident to see details, attached units and the comments / audit log.
- Clear Incident asks for a disposition — that disposition is written into the incident's comment log so there's a record of how it ended.
- Comments double as an audit trail: status changes, assignments and dispositions are all logged.
- The Query tab searches people and vehicles.
-
/run <name or plate>(or the in-MDT search) does the same thing and jumps straight to the result in the Persons tab. - Running a plate that isn't registered prompts the driver to register within 15 seconds (
/vreg). While they type, the MDT shows a request running timer; if it expires the vehicle is flagged stolen. - Person records show DL/licence info, physical description, registered vehicles, warrants and /char notes (e.g. gang RP) so they're visible in the CAD.
Unit Details shows every on-duty unit in columns:
UNIT | ST | Location | Inc | Type | Code
- Players sharing a callsign are merged into one unit; Fire/EMS is split out from law enforcement.
- Expand a unit (▸/▾) to see who's in it (member dropdown).
- Units are sortable (by callsign, status, …).
Open MDT settings to adjust:
- Opacity
- Scale
- Position (presets, or Custom (dragged) — drag the window where you want it)
-
Theme (white / normal, also via
/mdttheme)
Your settings are remembered between sessions.
