Troubleshooting
/cdisc admin doctor
Lists every source with one of four marks. It runs from the console too.
| Mark | Means |
|---|---|
| ✔ | Works |
| ✖ | Switched off in sources.yml
|
| ! | Switched on, but missing its key |
| ? | Works until it doesn't, such as YouTube without a fallback |
Most "track not found" reports are a source that was never configured, and this is the command that says which.
- Every player needs the client mod of the voice chat the server runs. Without it the plugin works and they hear nothing.
- Check that voice chat itself works: ordinary speech between players should get through.
- Look at the console at startup. CDisc names the voice backend it picked; if it found none, it disabled itself.
- Check the voice chat volume on the client, and the "CDisc Music" category in Simple Voice Chat's settings.
You are probably carrying the jukebox: its audio goes straight to you, and others hear it only from near you. Put it back down.
Two jukeboxes with the same disc are two independent playbacks and drift apart. Put them in a speaker group, where one decode feeds all of them.
-
/cdisc admin doctor. - Check the source is switched on in
sources.yml. - For YouTube, see YouTube.
youtube.fallback-api: trueis the first thing to try. - A Discord link more than about a day old has expired: copy it again.
- A direct link needs
enabled.http: true, or save it with/cdisc admin download. - Read the console: the reason for a refusal is there.
The reason is in the message: no permission, still on cooldown, a blocked host, a track that's too long, a region you're not a member of. All of it is set in Permissions and, for regions, WorldGuard.
- Players who never chose see nothing unless
lyrics.default-on: true./cdisc lyrics lyricsturns them on for you. - Most tracks without words simply aren't in the lyrics databases.
lyrics.debug: truenames each lookup in the console. - For a file in the music folder, add the words yourself with
/cdisc admin local-files-config.
-
resume-playback: trueinconfig.yml. - A jukebox resumes when its chunk loads: walk over to it.
- A paused jukebox stays paused on purpose.
- Every playing jukebox is decoded and encoded separately; each speaker in a group is a separate source for every listener near it.
- A larger hearing range means more listeners per source and more outgoing traffic. Lower
svc-config.distanceand the beacon levels. - With
voice-backend: multi, each voice plugin costs one extra encode.
/cdisc admin logs
uploads the server log to mclo.gs, with the doctor report on top and keys and tokens hidden, and replies with a link. Paste it into a new issue with:
- the Minecraft and server versions, and the CDisc version;
- which voice plugin is installed;
- what you did, and what you expected.
Search the open issues first. Never attach tokens.yml: issues are public.
Questions are also welcome on Discord.
