Ancient Runes are part of the Magical Items category. There are currently 11 different runes and a blank one.
Every single rune is made in the Ancient Altar and their recipes can be found in the Slimefun guide.
There is the Blank Rune, which is used as a base crafting material for the simple runes.
There are 5 simple runes, Air, Earth, Fire, Water and Ender. These are used in low-end Magical Gadgets and to craft the other runes.
After those come the high-end runes, these are all also used to craft Magical Gadgets. These are the Lightning and the Rainbow rune.
