Slimefun Legacy stands on more than a decade of community work. Maintaining a fork responsibly means preserving technical compatibility and giving clear credit to the people and projects that made it possible.

Project lineage

Slimefun Legacy is an unofficial downstream fork in the Slimefun 4 ecosystem. Credit belongs to:

• the original Slimefun creator(s) and maintainers;
• the Slimefun 4 community and contributors;
• Slimefun wiki contributors;
• addon developers across the ecosystem;
• downstream projects and maintainers whose work helped preserve Slimefun across newer server versions;
• testers and server communities who report compatibility problems.

The repository history and Git metadata should be preserved so original authorship remains traceable.

License

Slimefun Legacy is distributed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPL-3.0) as declared by the repository.

When redistributing modified builds, follow the license requirements and preserve applicable copyright/license notices.

This wiki is documentation for the Legacy project; do not copy large sections of third-party documentation verbatim. Prefer original explanations, attribution and links to the original source.

Original Slimefun documentation

The original Slimefun 4 community wiki remains an important historical and conceptual reference for gameplay categories, onboarding and addon-development concepts. Legacy's documentation is rewritten to match its modern runtime and diagnostics rather than pretending the older wiki describes every current behavior.

Support

For bugs, use the Slimefun Legacy repository's Issues page and include the evidence listed in Troubleshooting.

For addon-specific bugs, identify the owning addon and report the problem to the correct maintainer when the evidence points outside the core.

Donations

Donations, when offered through an official project link, are optional support for development, testing, hosting and maintenance. They do not grant ownership, guaranteed features or special project rights.
