Agenda

Welcome New Members

  • Brandon Cole - Marmot
  • Wilhelmina Randtke - FLVC

Old Business

  • Previous meeting notes
  • Release updates
    • postponed by two weeks; a couple of blockers and a few other tasks.
    • Looks good to go for next Friday
    • Wonderful work by contributors
    • Islandora OA-DOI module of Badges replaced by unpaywalled version
    • JWPLayer also deprecated
    • Release Notes will have further details

New Business

  • Project & Community Manager is back from leave. Any pressing issues for her to attend?
  • Zoom meetings - how to handle security?
  • Committers: One List to Rule Them All (or at least, to find them all in one easy place). Can we add a section for CLAW to this?
    • Raises further questions about where these pages should live at all. Referring it to the DIG (if revived).
  • Microsoft has acquired Github. How does this affect the Islandora community?
    • May be too early to evaluate how this effects us, but we should keep an eye for changes
  • "Public Ask" for reviving the Documentation Interest Group
    • Reviving the DIG with specific goals to review, consolidate, and update the documentation?
    • Current docs are in several places, several formats, multiple logins etc.
    • Good opportunity for participation from new community members
    • CC members should take the 'ask' back to their home teams to see if people with appropriate skills can join up
    • Looking at the difference between wikis and readmes. GitHub versus Confluence, etc.
    • Mark B will reach out to the existing convenors
    • A subgroup of Coordinating committee will diagnose what the problem is, choose a direction, then we will pass it back to the DIG
    • Documentation "Working group" with a clear, finite goal.
    • How will this impact CLAW workflow? MkDocs is being used, and allows tech + user documentation in the same place. Requires some git knowledge, which may help bring devs/documenters into the fold.
