  • Islandora 7.x-1.7 Release All blockers are now fixed and pull requests are merged. The second release candidate should be out today and a likely release date is Friday, June 3, 2016.

  • LSAP Islandora Awesome

    • Result: Islandora Awesome has been moved to Islandora Labs at Islandora Awesome. Melissa will write about the move of Islandora Awesome to Labs in the coming week.

Interest Group Updates

  • Documentation IG (Melissa): This IG met on Tuesday and here's the Agenda. The IG has come up with a template for Islandora documentation for the next release. There are also tips and instructions for committers. The IG is looking at recruitment and find more ways to reach out to the community.

  • Dev Ops (Mark Jordan): No report at this time.

  • Metadata IG (Jennifer): No report at this time.

  • IR interest group (Bryan): Notes. Florida Virtual Campus will be trying to fill out some of the gaps for other universities in Florida for institutional repositories. They talked about standardizing the feature set for CLAW to ensure CLAW is ready for institutional repositories.

CLAW

  • Islandora & Drupal 8 Prospectus
    • Ready for discussion/approval: This was sent around in the Google+ area and am looking for review and thoughts to proceed on approval at the next meeting. Comments can be added to the document.
  • May sprint updates
    • Sprint Milestone: We're coming on the last day of the sprint which was very productive. The restructuring is complete and individual projects are in their own repositories. Microservices have been broken out as well. The Drupal module has been broken out into its own repository. When we have our 1st release candidate, Drupal can be asked to promote this as a project. People have asked for an introductory document. You can also view this document on CLAW and the community design
    • Intro doc for Islandora CLAW
  • CLAW Lessons update: The final lesson has been completed. All lessons have been recorded.
  • CLAW Calls: Anyone is welcome to the Wednesday monthly call.
    • May 18: We had Justin Simpson the tech lead for Archivematica to talk about the format registry which uses machine-readable language for formats. This is now an API that returns Jason. The next step is to create an ontology. Nick will be a guest at the Archivematica camp in August.
    • May 25: This concerned updates on sprints and Drupal planning talk on moving forward to Drupal 8. The move to Drupal 8 is a recurring topic.
  • Cross community discussion
    • API-X (May 26): Every other week the API-X group meets. There is overlap with the architecture of CLAW and APIs. They discuss where these overlaps occurs such as where to engage CLAW. This is a funded effort now.
    • Performance/Scaling (May 16): There are questions about how Fedora 4 can scale and perform on large scales. There are currently 4 tests. Reporting is now being done and you can see the 1st report.
    • Format Policy Registry (May 18)
    • PCDM 2.0: This is a cross section between Islandora and Hydra which is thinking of data modeling. This is talking about file sets and how you model that. There will be a workshop at OR. This workshop has a vagrant machine. This vagrant machine runs Islandora and Hydra.
    • Fedora Tech meetings: Every Thursday, 11am EST. Modeshape5 is a big part of the discussions.
  • Project Plan: We are always looking for feedback and comments. This is for the community and needs the community to comment.

Islandora Camps

  • iCampBC2: There are about 10 seats left. The schedule has been published. There's a good mix of regional and other attendees. Rosie will be a development instructor.

  • iCampMO: No updates.

  • Islandoracon: No updates.

Round Table

  • Brian H.: No updates.
  • Bryan B.: No updates.
  • Carell: No updates.
  • David W.: Plans are firming up for the next Fedora camp which is at Columbia University in November. The METRO NY Libraries will be involved with that camp.
  • Gabriela: No updates.
  • Donald: Scholar is still being readied. Indexing Sherpa Romeo and looking into the possibilities of pulling the full text and providing snapshots of changes in time. OR will conflict with the June 10th meeting.
  • Jennifer: No updates.
  • Jordan: No updates.
  • Melissa: Will be at the Atlantic conference to talk about Islandora next week. An Islandora workshop has been accepted for the Access 2016 conference.
  • Nick: They are hiring! The position integrates work in both Islandora and Fedora.
  • William: No updates.
