Roadmap Meeting December 16, 2011

Notes - Dec. 16th

• Need to clarify the batch ingest process in the documentation - what formats are supported? can we ingest metadata side-by-side? Which content models are they associated with? Can people add batch to their own content models? Time out information...Rename Simple.zip Ingest?
• Separate chapter for each module that is part of the release package
• David has applied versioning to Islandora documentation as of 11.3 (meaning that there are versions for 11.2 and 11.3)
• Add readme to the release package that is posted on islandora.ca, release in Git, and released on the dev list.
• Current assumption is that we will have two solid 6 releases in 2012.
• Release policy docs to the larger community - will be sent out to community by second Roadmap meeting in January 2012 (early to mid-January)

Action Items:

• Kirsta to send out tech requirements template (proposal)
• David to be contacted re: documentation changes
• Jonathan to send out his process documentation before the next Roadmap meeting (more detailed information about what developers should be doing to follow process)
• Islandora repositories need to be cleaned up - extract modules that are not released (Ben)

Resolutions:

• We will have an Islandora github repo that has distributed code (everything that is released or is under development to be released - XACML - for general use)
• DiscoveryGarden repo used for its own purposes - creating client-specific repos...
• Nothing will ever be deleted from the repo (always moved)
• Continuous testing will be available as Drupal 7 is being developed
• There will be two stable releases of Islandora 6 in 2012
• Drupal 7 development process: ** January 6th - draft of process documentation shared with the group for discussion and finalized over the next week. ** estimating a month for the technical documentation means first/second meeting in February is Drupal 7 presentation of design document
• David's user testing documentation has been shared with the group. In the January meetings, we will finalize and publish this (likely to the Git Wiki).
