Analog Devices AD463x Block Diagram

The block diagram of the EVAL-AD4630-24FMCZ® Eval board (below) shows the major components. Each analog input is differential input with each input having a ADA4896 amplifier with a gain of 1 as a buffer followed by ADA4895 amplifier for amplification. Conversion results from the AD4630-24 are communicated to the FPGA via the FMC-LPC connector using 8-channel SDO pin via SPI in serial interface mode along with BUSY_ECHO and CNV which are be used as control function in AD4630-24.

The AD4630-24 is a respectively 24bit, pin-compatible family of dual simultaneous sampling, high speed, low power, successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converters (ADCs). It incorporates the ADA4896 rail-to-rail output amplifier with Gain=1 to buffer the input signals before applying them to the ADC inputs. VCC and VIO is supplied though LT3042 and LTC1763 regulator respectively. and external reference voltage of +3.3V can be given through LTC6655. The AD4630-24 expects the input signals in range between GND and VCC, differential input full voltage swing equal to Vref. IO voltage supported by AD6430 is 1.8V however on board level shifter FXLH4224 converts 3.3V to 1.8V. The multiplexed signal BUSY_ECHO from AD4630-24 is demultiplexed using FXL2T245L as BUSY_FMC and SCK_OUT_FMC respectively.
