CIEL content lives in the CIEL organization on Open Concept Lab. It has two kinds of resources: the CIEL source (a code system) and collections (value sets). Both are available through the OCL API and the OCL FHIR API.
CIEL is the main terminology.
See Locales.
Ready-made subsets of CIEL that can be imported into your own dictionary or used directly.
| Collection | Description |
|---|---|
| COVID-19 Starter Set | Concepts for COVID-19 care and reporting |
| Monkeypox starter set | Concepts for mpox care and reporting |
Concept and mapping counts for each collection are on its page in OCL.
Starter sets are versioned, so you can pin a version and upgrade when you choose.
- Import into your dictionary: add a collection's concepts to your own source in OCL, or to OpenMRS through the OCL module. You can also use legacy files which are designed to overwrite the concept tables in your OpenMRS implementation. These are available as external exports on the version page.
- Use directly: read a collection as a FHIR ValueSet and a source as a FHIR CodeSystem. See Using FHIR.
Need a new starter set? See Concept and Mapping Proposals.
