Release Process

CIEL is released monthly. Each release is a numbered version on OCL, named by date, The latest is version.

Steps

  1. Curate. Concepts, translations and mappings are edited in the working version (HEAD).
  2. Check. Quality Assurance is run and findings are resolved.
  3. Release. A new version is created and published on OCL.
  4. Export. OCL generates the full export of the version.
  5. Build OpenMRS dumps. OpenMRS-compatible SQL files are generated and attached to the version on OCL, one for each supported OpenMRS version.
  6. Review changes. The differences from the previous release are available, together with each concept's metadata.

Getting a release

  • OpenMRS users: use the OCL module, or download the SQL dump on OCL: open the published version, then Actions → External Exports.
  • Overwriting an OpenMRS concept dictionary: read the ReadMe in the download first. The dump replaces the concept tables.
  • Other users: download the OCL export, or read CIEL through the OCL API.

Older releases remain available for now, and may be retired over time depending on usage. If you are on an older version, plan your upgrade.

History
