Locales

CIEL supports many locales, some fully and some partially.

Support is measured as the share of active concepts whose Fully Specified Name is translated into the locale. A locale is fully supported above 95%.

Coverage for any other locale is available on OCL and grows with each release.

How to use locales

Always request your most specific locale and let fallback do the rest:

pt_BR  →  pt  →  en

1. Use your specific locale, for example pt_BR.
2. If a concept has no name there, fall back to the language root, pt.
3. If that is also missing, fall back to en.

Current coverage of this example:

en always has full coverage, so every concept always has a name.

Locale codes are written one way only: pt_BR, not pt-BR or pt_br.
