Changelog

With every new version Coodoo writes a changelog for the people who use your app: only what they notice, in plain language. On the Changelog page (button on the left) you read it per version and per language, edit it, and have missing parts written.

Choosing languages

You choose the languages under Autopilot settings → Changelog for users. The Choose languages button on the page takes you there. Dutch is the default. Each language has its own file in your project: changelog/nl.md, changelog/en.md and so on.

The changelog belongs to the versions. When Track version numbers is off, Coodoo does not write it and the page says so.

The page

  • On the left are all versions, newest first, with their date. A red No entry label means the version has no text in any language yet. An orange label, for example Missing EN, names the languages still missing. A check mark means the version is complete.
  • At the top is a tab per chosen language. The number on a tab is how many versions have no text in that language yet.
  • In the middle is the text of the chosen version in the chosen language.

When your project has several components with their own version, you pick the component next to the title.

Editing it yourself

Click Edit (or Write it yourself when there is nothing yet). Write headings (### New) and items with a dash (- …). Save puts the text into that language's file, in the place of that version.

Having it written

  • Rewrite has the agent write the text of this version in this language again. Other languages stay as they are.
  • Fill in missing writes every missing version and translation at once. When a version already has a text in another language, the agent translates it, so every language says the same.

The agent follows the same strict rules as for a new version: only what users notice, nothing about how it works behind the scenes, no file names, packages or version numbers. A second step removes technical words and a fixed filter drops lines that still sound technical.

The top of the page shows what the agent is doing and how far it got. Stop cancels it. When a version fails, the page says why in plain words; the other versions carry on.

Committing

What you change or have written on the page goes into the files in your project folder. Commit it with Commit & push on the GitHub page, or let it go along with the autopilot's next version commit.

Note: the changelog is not published anywhere. To show it in your app or on a website, the texts are ready in the changelog folder.
