Requirements

Building and running your app often takes programs like Node.js for a website, Python for a script or Java for an Android app. You don't have to figure out which ones you need or how to install them: Coodoo does that.

How Coodoo knows what's needed

  • From your project itself: for example .nvmrc or package.json (Node.js), pyproject.toml or requirements.txt (Python), Gradle or Maven (Java).
  • From the plan: for every goal, the developer writes down what the work needs, with the version and the reason.

The Requirements panel

Open Requirements (right). For each program you see:

  • the version that's needed, and why;
  • whether it's already there: Version 20.11 is already on your computer, or installed by Coodoo;
  • if it's missing: what Coodoo would install, how big it is and where it comes from.

Click Install for one program, or Get everything ready for everything that's missing. Check again makes Coodoo check once more.

Safe and tidy

  • Coodoo only installs from the official source: nodejs.org, Eclipse Temurin (adoptium.net) for Java, and Python through uv.
  • Every file is verified with a checksum.
  • Everything goes into Coodoo's own folder. No admin password is needed and nothing on your system changes.
  • The agents and your app automatically use the version that belongs to your project.

Installing during the autopilot

When Install during the autopilot is on (the default), Coodoo installs whatever is missing before the first task of a goal starts. When it's off, it reports in the log what's missing.

Tip: If a program can't be installed, the agents carry on anyway. Building or testing might not work then; you'll see that in the log.
