Troubleshooting
The most common questions and problems, and what you can do about them.
- Check that the program is installed. Open a terminal and type
claude --versionorcodex --version. - In Settings → Agents, click Search again.
- If that doesn't work, fill in the Path to CLI under Advanced.
Coodoo also works with just one agent; it then does all the roles.
The autopilot only starts when there's a goal in the queue. Make a goal in the Chat, or turn on Keep going so the team comes up with a goal itself.
- Open Goals → History and read the reason.
- Look in the Run panel to see what happened. Filter on Problems to see only the errors.
- Click Try again. Tasks that were finished stay done.
- If it fails again, make the goal smaller or clearer. See Writing good goals.
You can see this in the usage at the top. Coodoo then waits, or lets the other agent take over if Fallback is on. Click the usage to see when the limit resets. See Usage of your subscriptions.
With big tasks, a step can take half an hour or longer. After the Time limit per step (default 45 minutes), Coodoo stops it and tries again. If you want to step in, use Pause.
- In the App panel, check which start command Coodoo uses. If it's wrong, click Let Claude find out or fill in the Start command yourself.
- Is a program missing? Check Requirements.
- Does your app need a database or keys? Put them in a
.envfile, or describe in a goal that the app should also be able to start without them.
- In GitHub → Settings → Access on GitHub, click Check. If a permission is missing, make a new token with Create token under Accounts.
- Has the token expired? Replace it under Accounts → Replace token.
- Is the branch protected? Then Coodoo opens a pull request itself when merging.
- Is the autopilot paused? Wait until it's done or stop it.
- Is there an open critical security problem? Have it fixed, or deliberately check I understand the risk and want to merge anyway.
Read the message and check Settings → Failsafes → Blocked actions to see what happened. Usually an agent tried something that can't be done safely; it then finds another way on its own. If it keeps happening, check whether the goal asks for something that isn't allowed. See Failsafes.
If your computer went to sleep, the autopilot pauses and picks up again by itself when the computer wakes up. If you paused it yourself, click Resume.
Switch languages under Settings → General → Language. Coodoo reloads the screen in the new language.
Search this documentation with the search box at the top left, or ask in the Chat: "Why is the build failing?". The chat can read your code and the team's logs.
